Who wants an excerpt?

I’ve decided that I’m going to be nice–sort of.  LOL.  I’d like to give you a small snippet of pieces throughout Like My Status.

For a moment he struggled to scream, to move, to do anything to relieve his agony, but nothing would satiate his need for her.  Deep thought and careful planning were necessary now, for he had taken the step toward the point of no return.  Nothing could save him now.  He needed this.  It was time for him to come out.  The beast inside was in charge now.

She never saw it coming.

He leaned closer, looming over her. It was only then that she realized he had no intention of letting her go—alive.  He had her pressed to the wall, his chest to her back, but she could feel the corners of his wicked mouth turning up slightly with a wicked grin as he whispered sinful sayings in her ear.

“Why couldn’t you be like her?” he whispered.  “If only you hadn’t done that.  If only you hadn’t said ‘no’.”

She slammed her eyes shut.  It was only their first date.  Why would she have said ‘yes’ to entering a committed relationship?  She didn’t even know if she was going to like him by the end of the first date.  Still, it was no good. She could still feel him, that lean body caging her in, the muscles in his arms rippling as he bound her hands together behind her back.

“Jezebel,” he whispered.  “You’re just like the others—nothing but a woman with loose morals.  You look perfect.  You feign perfect manners to get what you want, but when a good man comes along, you want nothing to do with him.”  A silky whisper in her ear. A curious, whimpering sound came from her throat.

She felt him grab her left hand.  He closed her hand in a fist with the exception of one finger—her left ring finger.  She felt him reach for something in his pocket, his body still pressed to hers.  His mouth was so close to her ear.  Then, she felt his fingers trailing through the soft curls in her hair, tugging lightly as he gathered all of her hair over one shoulder.  She turned so her cheek was against the wall, so she might see what he was doing.  All she could see was his mouth, with its sensual lips, and the slight lopsided dimple as he smiled.  He had to be something from the pits of Hell.  He had tempted her with his svelte prose and tenor tones.  She felt his breath over her cheek, lips so close.

She could barely hear him whisper over the pounding of her heart.  “You will be mine anyway,” he said as his words floated on the wind.  She wanted to scream, but she knew no one would hear her.  He told her so.

“I’ve been far too patient with you tonight.  I won’t prolong your suffering much longer.”  With that, she felt the blade dig into the flesh of her hand, slicing through it as if she were butter, until she felt it hit bone.  She tried to scream, but nothing had come out.  He had already slit her throat through both the jugular vein and carotid artery, severing her vocal chords.

“I’ve been kind.  I’ve been the perfect gentleman, but you spat on me.  No more,” he whispered curtains of darkness were brought down over her eyes.  His hard body still trapped her against the wall.  There was no escape.  Nothing but surrender.

Over her dead body.
